This Privacy Policy describes how Chomp AI LLC (“Company,” “We,” “Us,” or “Our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Chomp AI mobile application (“App”) and the website at chompai.app (“Website”), collectively the “Service.”
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address and name (if you choose to share it).
- Food photos: Photos you take or upload for nutrition analysis. These are processed by AI to estimate nutritional content and stored securely on our servers.
- Nutrition and health data: Calorie and macronutrient goals, meal logs, weight entries, and progress data that you enter into the App.
- Profile information: Age, gender, height, weight, activity level, and dietary goals you provide during onboarding.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: App interactions, features used, scan frequency, and session information.
- Device information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and IP address.
- Crash and performance data: Error logs and performance metrics collected through Sentry to improve app stability.
1.3 Subscription Information
Subscription purchases are processed by Apple through In-App Purchase. We do not collect or store your payment card information. We receive subscription status information (active, expired, trialing) from RevenueCat, our subscription management provider, to determine your access level.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- Analyze your food photos using AI to estimate nutritional content
- Track your nutrition goals and display progress
- Manage your account and subscription
- Send you notifications (meal reminders, if enabled)
- Improve and optimize the Service
- Monitor for and fix technical issues
- Respond to support requests
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:
- AI processing services: Food photos are sent to Google's Gemini AI for nutritional analysis. Photos are processed in real-time and are not retained by the AI service beyond processing.
- Cloud storage: Food photos are stored securely on Cloudflare R2 servers.
- Authentication: We use Supabase for secure authentication and data storage.
- Subscription management: RevenueCat manages subscription status and syncs with Apple's App Store.
- Error monitoring: Sentry receives crash reports and performance data to help us fix issues.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers using industry-standard encryption. We use Supabase (PostgreSQL) for structured data and Cloudflare R2 for photo storage. While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (via App settings or by contacting us), we permanently delete all your data, including nutrition logs, food photos, and profile information. Some data may be retained in anonymized form for analytics purposes.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Delete your account and all associated data through Settings > Delete Account in the App, or by visiting our account deletion page
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Export your data by contacting us
- Opt out of notifications through the App settings
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to remove that information.
8. Cookies and Tracking (Website)
The Website may use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality. The mobile App does not use cookies but may use local storage (AsyncStorage) to persist your preferences and session data on your device.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
