Request Account Deletion

We respect your privacy and your right to control your personal data. If you would like to delete your Chomp AI account and all associated data, please follow the steps below.

How to Request Account Deletion

To request account deletion:

  1. Open the Chomp AI app on your device
  2. Navigate to Settings
  3. Scroll to the "Account" section
  4. Tap "Delete Account" or "Request Account Deletion"
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm

Alternative method: You can also email us directly at support@chompai.app with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include your account email address or user ID.

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently deleted from our systems:

  • Account Information: Your user account, email address, and authentication credentials
  • Nutrition Data: All meal logs, calorie tracking data, macro nutrients (protein, carbs, fats), and daily nutrition records
  • Weight Data: All weight entries, weight goals, and weight tracking history
  • Photos: All food photos you've uploaded to the app
  • Goals: Your nutrition goals, weight goals, and any custom goals you've set
  • App Preferences: Settings, preferences, and customizations

Data Retention Period

After you submit a deletion request, your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted within 30 days. During this period, your account will be deactivated and you will not be able to access it.

Note: Some data may be retained for longer periods if required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as transaction records for subscription payments). However, this data will be anonymized and cannot be linked back to your account.

What Happens After Deletion

  • You will lose access to all your data immediately upon account deactivation
  • Your subscription (if active) will be cancelled
  • You will not be able to recover any deleted data
  • You can create a new account at any time, but it will start fresh with no previous data

Third-Party Services

Please note that we use third-party services that may also store your data:

  • Clerk: Authentication data (will be deleted when your account is deleted)
  • Supabase: User data and nutrition records (will be deleted when your account is deleted)
  • RevenueCat: Subscription and payment data (retained for legal/compliance purposes but anonymized)
  • Cloudflare R2: Stored photos (will be deleted when your account is deleted)

We will request deletion of your data from these third-party services as part of the account deletion process.

Important Reminders:

  • Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone
  • Make sure to export any data you want to keep before requesting deletion
  • Cancel any active subscriptions before deletion to avoid future charges
